New episode of Skholé: Conversationalization with Peppe Cavallari

In this new episode of Skholé, Arilys Jia welcomes Peppe Cavallari.

Peppe Cavallari holds a PhD in Philosophy and Information and Communication Sciences from UTC-Sorbonne University, as well as a PhD in Comparative Literature (specializing in Intermedial Studies) from the University of Montreal. He is an Associate Professor of Information and Communication Sciences at the Institut Catholique de Paris and teaches Digital Culture at Sciences Po Paris. An associate researcher with the Media, Images & Technologies team (EA7403) and a collaborator with CRIHN since 2013, he is a founding member and coordinator of the InterGestes research group (UMR 6266 CNRS IDEES). He is currently spearheading the upcoming issue (No. 15|2026) of the journal *Interfaces numériques*, titled "Gesture and Digital Gesture: Towards a Gestural Theory of the Interfaced Human." Previously, his research project—"The TV-Advertising Imaginary of Mobile Culture: Towards a Technology of Care?"—was awarded INA associate researcher status under the 2022–2024 INA call for researchers.

In this episode, Peppe Cavallari discusses the conversational model—tracing its historical origins to its growing presence in digital interactions—and explores what he terms "total conversationalization."
